Whether we like it or not, we are the average of the 5 people that we spend the most time with. Which means that we share the same hobbies, eating habits, drinking habits, music preferences, etc. with the people that we are around the most.

If you’re working hard on your New Year’s resolutions but your significant other is not-  it’s more likely that your fitness goals could take the back burner to your relationship.

Not only does working out with your boyfriend/girlfriend give you a permanent spotter while you lift.... but the extra time together will strengthen your bond (while your both strengthening those muscles). Also, lifting together shows that you can rely on this person both inside and outside the gym! 

  2. Motivation: When your partner shares the same goals, it is easier to stay on track! You can motivate each other to do one more rep, run that extra mile together, or put down that pint of Ben & Jerry’s when you’re feeling down. The possibilities are endless, but it all starts with the support and motivation from your other half.

  3. Zero temptation: If you grocery shop and meal prep together, the temptation to binge on unhealthy food is no longer there! You can come up with healthy alternatives and prep them for the week so that you are both staying on track and bonding while you’re at it.

  4. Endorphins= Happy couple: I know that Elle Woods said I first but….endorphins make people happy! People who workout always have that post-workout glow and the endorphins carry throughout the rest of the day and into your relationship!
